● Pricing

What Does Contractor Insurance
Cost in California?

There's no single flat rate
Your premium depends on your trade, payroll, claims history, and annual revenue. Rather than quote a number before we understand your business, we manually audit your class codes first — that audit is where most of the savings we find actually come from, and it’s the step most online contractor insurance platforms skip entirely.
This page is for general informational purposes and isn’t a binding quote or legal advice. Pricing varies by carrier, trade classification, claims history, and coverage limits, and all coverage is subject to policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and underwriting approval. Contact us for a written quote specific to your business.

● Questions, Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need contractor insurance before my CSLB license?

Workers’ compensation is required by the state if you have employees. General liability isn’t always state-mandated, but nearly every general contractor and client will require it before you’re allowed on site.

Can I get covered quickly in Orange County?

Most policies are bound the same day, with your COI delivered immediately. Complex commercial accounts typically take one to two business days.

What does general liability NOT cover?

It doesn’t cover your own tools, employee injuries, faulty workmanship, or work vehicles. Those require workers’ comp, tools and equipment coverage, errors and omissions, and commercial auto.

Can I get coverage if I use subcontractors?

Yes, but your policy needs to be structured correctly. We make sure subcontractor coverage is included and tell you which documents and certificates to collect from every subcontractor you hire.

Do you have an office in every city you serve?

No — we work from a single office in San Juan Capistrano and serve contractors throughout Orange County and California. Most policies are handled by phone, email, or video, so distance from our office doesn’t affect service speed.

“Mike doesn’t just sell insurance — he takes the time to truly understand your operations, your risks, and your goals. He personally reviewed our policies, uncovered gaps no one else had mentioned, and helped us lower our premiums.”
